OPERATION TINSEL

#OpTinsel | Across the weekend, officers from our Neighbourhood Team have been out and about around the retail areas of Tamworth as part of an annual operation.

We have had both plain-clothed officers and those in hi-vis, including our Staffordshire Police Cadets, as well as officers from CPART. 

Our officers have patrolled shops and retail areas providing a visible presence to both reassure shoppers, deter and deal appropriately with any would-be thieves.

In addition to this our team have erected signage in Town Centre car parks and handed out leaflets to increase awareness around vehicle crime.

The response from businesses and customers has been positive, particularly in support of our fantastic cadets.

At the close of play this afternoon (21/12/25), our officers have arrested three people for shoplifting around Ventura Park - one of which was wanted for theft offences by another force. They remain in custody at this time.

We will continue to provide a presence at our retail parks across the festive period.
